1.8t quattro just chipped now unknown shudder?
Deffinately make sure you get a new diverter valve asap. Some tear appart on the inside immediately after getting chipped and others last a couple weeks. You gotta get at least a 710N DV ($35) Even if your stock DV isnt bad, its still not gunna hold 18-20 psi of boost these chips throw at it very well/for long.
If it's a minor shudder (almost like a fluttering) that occurs as the turbo boost is spooling up or peaking, your DV probably has already failed. When APR says the stock DV will do temporarily, they're not saying you can put off upgrading it - it's more like saying it's OK to drive it off the lot that way. You definitely need to change it anyways so do it right now. Get a 710N from the dealer or online from someplace like ECS Tuning ($35 to $50 depending where you get it). I wasn't willing to wait so just went to the dealer and paid the $50.
Before tuning I had the shop look into it and their reply was in 2003 the DV was able to hold upto 26psi. If I wait for a short while what would be the next thing to happen or to listen for?
