Ok, today it was raining out, as i was flooring it on 2nd gear to pass this truck , all of a sudden my car made a sound, my friend sed it sounded like i grinded a gear but i thought it sounded liek a loud "WhoosH". Right after, my car sounded like a diesel truck or somthing. it sounds like i have a diesel motor and i can hear my turbo spool real loud and ticking noise in the background also. i am chip, but the spool was never that loud lol. Wht happen!!!???i really hope its nothing big[&:]

 

I had a similar problem with my 1.8, it started to sound really harsh like a diesel, turned out to be the bearing on the water pump?? Had to get the whole water pump, camblet and all pulleys replaced, cost me £400 from an independant...
