Default 1.8T w/ automatic???

What is the general opinion on the 1.8T with automatic transmission? Weak? Worth it? I'm looking at one for sale; I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.

Tiptronic or not? Personally I like the standard tranny, but the 1.8t is a fun car anyway the tranny comes. What year is it?

it's a 2001.5, no tip. but i'm mainly concerned about the trans being auto. as oppossed to manual. what do you think about the auto. trans. for that type of engine? oh yeah, it's quattro too.

I'm not aware of any intrinsic problems with the AT. It's quattro, so I'd be more than happy with the AT. How much are they asking?

$14,500
74,000 miles
17" Celebration wheels (+ another set of winters)
Sport suspension
Tint
More add-ons and mods a possibility; I'm waiting on the sellers' e-mail response to my questions

Depending on what options it has that's not bad at all. I Googled Kelley Blue Book and entered the info you posted and it gave me $17,653.00. Can you get the repair history for the car?

Performance is relative. It will depend on what you currently drive.

I own a 2001 1.8T with Tip. My previous car was a 1996 Honda Civic EX 5-Speed.

With the A/C on, the Audi is quicker than the Honda with A/C off.
