Default 1 bar vs. 1.1 bar

Ok so I decided I am getting my car chipped by Inmotion very soon here, probably getting their tip chip also. From what I hear, they offer a 1 bar and 1.1 bar chip for my car. The 1.1 bar is like 25 bucks more and it requires me to upgrade my fuel pressure regulator. Would it be worth it to go through the extra hassle for the little bit of extra boost? Would it be much harder on my car?

Btw, what is the GIAC chip, is that 1 bar as well?

Are FPR hard to install, like is it as easy as installing a DV?

1 bar is like 14.7psi if I remember right - so 1.1 maybe 15.8psi wouldn't be that much more - an FPR is $80 so your chip is now $105 more. I think that GIAC is 1.2 or 1.4 bar 17.5-20.4 psi. And yes the FPR is even easier than a DV to replace.

I've only seen ads that say if you have over a 1bar you should upgrade your FPR to a 5bar - but I havn't seen any evidence to support it.

Hey,
I talked to InMotion Tuning about this as well. I am also getting a chip and tip chip from them (As soon as I get my tax return in a week or two.) They said that yes, the 1 bar is another 14.7 psi. Here is what they e-mailed me back:

"Josh, 1.1 Bar is the upper limit of your little turbo. I would suggest you install a boost gauge so you can monitor your boost spikes, and a siple boost controller to control the highs and lows of the boost curve. Here are somegreatitems..."

So yeah. I don't think another $105 is worth it just to get another 1 psi. But thats just me. I guess I will see when the time comes.

Josh

Is the boost controller he's referring to like a N75 race valve?
