What do you guys think about running on some 104 race fuel?
i'm driving a2002 1.8t modded.
a local sunoco sells it for about 8 bucks a gallon.
We put some in my friends Saab and it messed up the turbo but ive heard our 1.8's love high octane fuel? or did i hear wrong?

If you don't have your ECU tuned for it you won't do a damn thing but waste money. I don't know what you mean by "modded" so I'm not sure. However.....
The ECU needs to compensate for added octane to take advantage of things like bumped timing. So, it won't do a damn thing, unless yourchiphas race gas file, then it would. Race gas on mine is friggen sweet but I don't want to blow out my internals so I don't do it often.
Don't waste your money until you get chip files that support it.

Well, it'd do absolutely nothing for you... Not unless you've got programming for it. You will however waste a lot of money! Sweet.

what kind of horsepower should i be making?
we were thinking it may be a back pressure problem?

What octane fuel are you running now?
Do you have access to VAG COM? You may have a boost leak; with the K04 you should be at least hanging with the Slaab.
Did I read in another post that you'd just bought the car with these mods already? If so, are you SURE you have those mods? The K04 looks identical to K03 from the outside and I have seen people pass them off before.
Keep an eye on your S4 motor mounts. Both the S4 and RS4 OE motor mounts are liquid based on the internals, and the more turbo you're pushing, the more that liquid inside breaks down. And your back to having mushy mounts.

wow you know your stuff.
um the past two times ive filled i put 93 in.
I dont think i have a boost leak cause according to the boost gauge i peak around 20 at most. Most of the time it's 19 though.
I'm not 100% sure i have these mods, i guess i just went along with it i would have never guessed that he was lying about them?
What's VAG COM?
and is there anywhere i could take it so they could double check and go over all the mods to see if i really do have them all?
if i dont i'm going to be so pissed haha
but yeah i raced my friend the other day with the saab and in 1st and half way thru 2nd i had him then he just took off.
2002 saab 9-5 aero 250 hp 250 torque 5 speed.

When you get a chance, take pics of your manifold and you exhaust. Both I'm not familiar with and I'd like to see them.
If I were you I'd have someone really knowledgeable close to you take a look at your car to verify these mods.
Who's car was it? A car with those mods couldn't have gotten some of those mods without having been a regular at on of the Audi forums; and I don't recoginize that car from description.

Was the Slaab dyno'd or are you going by manufacturer specs?
VAG COM is tool to communicate to your ECU via computer to find out fault codes and log data like requested vs actual boost, which will tell you what the ECU asked for, and what the turbo actually put out. Just one thing of many to show there may be a boost leak. Boost guages aren't entirely accurate and while good reference, are not be-all-end-all of what your boost actually is.
Your car should be pretty quick with the K04 and right software. Not "fast", as the K04 dies out closer to redline, but pretty quick in the mid RPM range. Do you have GIAC dealer near you?

Get water/meth injection. It has the same effects as 100+ octane and has many other benefits. Like:

increase octane rating
lowers iat
cleans cylinders
reduces knock

Then you can increase timing and/or increase boost. Even without any adjustments people have seen a few degrees of timing that was originally pulled back added with lower than ambeint intake temps.
