12v has no potential?
haha your gonna need like 10 flamesuits man why a civic? even if it has 908383 hp everyone will still call you a ricer. i would get any car but a civic although they are very cheap and reliable. on the dsm forums they told me the only reason you hear of dsm's breaking so much is because everyone cranks up the boost and doesnt know whta the hell their doing. the increased psi makes for a lot more problems liek the stock clutch will go sooner or you can blow a gasket or whatver. STOCK they are deecently reliable cars but if you keep up on the maintenance and kno wwhat your doing they can be really fast, cheap and reliable. my brother had one and ran 16 psi for a year and a half and never had a problem with it at all. until my mom ran it over with erh jeep, silly mom haha
but yeah audis are nicer but mor eexpensive and civics are the cheapest and msot reliable but its personal preference. dsm's fall in between imo but watev

I was never called a ricer, my car was completely stock on the outside besides shaved moldings, a set of 15" Rotas and a modified front bumper so the IC would fit.
Of course a DSM forum is going to be biased. Just like we are.
Not being a dick BUT.... you're defenitly contradicting yourself
with an eclipse that costs me 3k i simply buy a 40 manual boost controller and boost gauge and i can run 16 psi (17 is the fuel cut ) which would put me around 250+ hp with an exhaust and intake of course.

Granted, on most any car you increase the HP to more than 30%, the clutch isn't going to hold very long.
BTW, you can make a MBC for like $5 from HD.
Just because you can adjust the wastegate to allow more boost DOES not mean it's the right way to do it.
Ever hear of "crankwalk"?...no, yes...look into it even further. It's a common problem
I read about someone who installed modifed throttle body. There is no Hp gain only better fuel milage.
We can do basically show room stlye man
Speed
Intake
Cams
Custom Exhaust
Fuel INjectors
Suspension
Pretty much everything
Shocks
Sway bars
Springs
Appeal/Looks
ENDLESS

I find this more and more disheartening. I must say...I guess I didn't research as well as I should have before purchasing my '96 A4Q. Its a little late now. I guess I will just have to live with the slow reliable type. I figured someone would be able to figure something out but I've searched and searched and got nothing but 10% power increase off thousands of dollars of work. What a let down. I sold my Honda RC51 and thought this might fill that void but...I guess not.
i would buy both but i dont have the money so im lookiung for a daily driver/car with some deecent speed. i like my audi but like i said its just not fast enough even if i could put an exhaust and an intake on it it woul dlook good/sound good but then i would still be getting raped by everycar. buying a 1.8t isnt all the way outt of the question that is if i can fidn an awesome deal. then the only thing i woul dneed to do is buy a chip? how does that work? and does the 30v not have much potential either?
