12V vs 30V

Default 12V vs 30V

WHen was the last year of the 2.8L 12V.... When did they switch to the 30V setup, and also when did they do the change on the guage cluster, for the trip Computer.. (I hope that one makes since) thanks for all your help in advance

The 30 valves started in 98 I think that is when the driver information display started also no 100% on that one

Yeah as clconversion said, the 30V started in 1998. The trip computer was an option beginning in late 1996.

On the Trip Comp question i was more referring to when did they switch from the two horizontal displays witch read radion station and temp .... to the bigger one that was bigger thanks

OK thanks a lot.. so that would mean that (possibly) if I got that guage cluster from another Audi of same year it would work?

yeah all b5 a4 clusters will work but s4 clusters will not allow your car to start. (i found out in a very frustrating way)

bzzzzttt..

You can't plug and play a trip computer cluster into a non-trip computer car. The car is not wired for it.
