Default 16g on a 1.8?

now i have both a k03 and a 'big' 16g sitting around my house, so i just have to get some opinions on this.... besides exhaust flanges being a pain in the ***, as well as all the rest of the tubing, is a 16g too big for the 1.8 to spool? it is much larger, but also made for a 2.0 motor and makes a ton of power.... any thoughts?

a 2871 is what i want to get in the near future here, but looking at those things sitting next to each other every day drives me nuts as to wonder why the hell noone ever put one on an audi

and for tuning, my buddy is pretty close with the guy who owns dahlback racing's rights in the united states.

I have seen TD04 manifolds (B5) before so that takes care of the hard stuff. My big 16G is ported and clipped and put out 600+ cfm and if I remember right so dose the 2871r eliminator kit. This is an idea I have kicked around for a while........

i was kinda embarrassed to suggest such a thing, but it does make sense, i mean all ya gotta do is push the exhaust through the right hole...

Well I am not up on the AUDI tuning but I have done wonders with an AFC.....(in my GSX)

I would guess you need to start with 225 TT MAF, AFC, injectors, DV, FMIC, custom chip? and alot more????

i dont know how deep you would have to go with it... the most effective way would be a standalone fuel control system that was intended for an eclipse, maybe, or calculate cfm and manifold pressure to what the power output would be, then match your sensors and whatnot from different audis in the same ballpark, you have quite a range from the 1.8t in all its versions, on up to the w12, rs6 motor, rs4 motor, s4 motor, 2.8, 4.2.... you get the idea...

or you could go straight up caveman and use mechanical fuel injection and a boost controlled fmu...

sequential twin k03's could have some potential too... lots of kick and no lag... and wouldnt be that hard to make work.

Just a new manifold, two cylinders per turbo, hook up the exhausts of the turbos in a v.....prolly would have some lag, but still not much. SO many projects I would like to take on.......damn school keeps getting in my way.

I'm actually planning a project similar to this:

-1996 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro MT5
-14B Turbocharger
-Home Made 304ss Log Manifold
-Home Made FMIC with Piping
-Home Made Turbo-Back Exhaust
-DSM 450cc Injectors (Oh I'll get them to work, haha.)
-S-AFC for Fuel Management

And I'm certain it would work. 14Bs can turn 23psi before they start spiking, and seeming as you can't take an A4 over 20psi without sending out the ECU, a good 19-20psi would be just great.

I'm so eager to do this project, because I have most of these parts sitting around from the Laser, and most of my friends are into DSMs, so parts are ample, and VERY cheap. I think it would work, and I think the results would be pretty Damn good, especially for the price.
