I'm working on a 1996 a4 2.8 (AFC). The heads and block were replaced after the timing slipped. All the the electrical components on the car are factory. Now when trying to start, each injector and coil will cycle twice and then shut down. It has trouble codes P1393 P1394 and P1395. (Stage 1-3 ignition coil malfunction.) I used the Bentley guide to trace the Cam Position sensor and crank position, both have continuity and it said to replace the ECM. I replaced it with one from a local junk yard and its doing the same thing. any suggestions? Does the ECM need to be married to the car?
