Default 1997 Audi A4 1.8L Turbo Problem Help!!!

Hey im a new user here at Audiforums.com and I am having a little trouble with my car. A little while ago I was driving home and then a cloud of steam arose from my car. My coolant hose broke, so I replaced it within the next few days. Then another hose connected to the engine somewhere, mushroomed and then exploded, I have been trying to replenish the lost water but the problem of overheating every ten minutes will still not go away. please help me!

Check your thermostat and hose lines for leaks first.

You shouldnt be driving the car if it overheats that easily.. Get it fixed asap... But water in it, let it run get under there and find the leak!!!

I ran water through the radiator today and the radiator is fine. I have already replaced the oil coolant hose that broke as well as a few others. I have also replaced the thermostat. the main problem is that after the car overheats, it won't take any coolant from the resevoir. I just don't know what to do now.

Did the car start overheating after you replaced the thermostat or before? You could have an air buble in the system.

The car's been overheating before the replacement and after the replacement, but the actual overheating started before the replacement of the thermostat. There really is only two things it can be now; water pump or air gap right?

How many miles are on it? Do you know if the water pump has been replaced before? It could deffinately be either one. I would think it would be just an air buble though. I think if the water pump goes, it would make some kind of nasty sound

Are the radiator hoses hot?

Did you perhaps put the thermostat in backwards?
