Default 1998 A4 Avant Quatrro

I just bought a used 1998 A4 Avant Quatrro. It has been 30 degrees the past 2 days here and I haven't seen the temp gauge move from C yet. The heat seems to work just fine. Is there anything to be concerned about?

Thanks!

Dont fix it if its not broke! Wait till it warms up a bit outside and see what happens.

the thermometer is located in the front right underneath ur radiator. its a lil piece of plastic that has a wire coming out of it. it should be mounted to the under carriage with a black plastic mount. get under there, locate it, and make sure it is connected/there. you may have your answer.

My guage never gets much too far from "C" when it's around 30 degrees either. Its gotta be about 45 degrees or so at least for the car to actually hit operating temp right in the middle of the guage.

OK... thanks guys. I will wait for it to warm up a bit outside and keep an eye on it. Thanks for the replies!

Up in Minneapolis it gets a little colder than 30. My temp gauge always finds it way right to the middle in any temp. The coldest it's been driven is -28, i remember looking at the temp and saying holy sh*t.
The therometer behind the front bumper is not going to affect your temp gauge.
