19x10.5 in the rear?

the 2005 lltek catalog...there is a red b5 on page 69 with really wide rears...its on the top right of the pg

I have 9.5" in the rear, and there is no fender gap. It's very close. I don't think it would be possible to go wider with out a wide body conversion.

how about wide rim with not as wide tires? would this work? so the tires would tuck right under fender and the rim will stick out a little more.

then how do the tires hold air, there is only so much lee way that u have on the size.

If tire diameter is off between the front and back it could damage your quattro. If you have FWD it shouldn't damage anything but it would be silly for performance.

I have been told by many that having a staggered wheel setup in an all wheel drive car messes up the quattro system as well as the tranny

yo dude, if you have a quattro system, you shouldn't go staggered. The different widths screw with the computer and could totally screw up the system. You should go the same size all around. I've heard this from a really upclass tuner shop in my area, the audi dealership, and a small tire store.
