Default 1st Gear Boost

Is it normal for first gear to boost lower than the rest of the gears? check my mods. In second and up i usually hit around 15 psi, but first never goes above 10 psi.

1st gear is designed to get you going forget the turbo in this gear, 2nd/3/4/5/6 are pickup gears due to their ratios and turbo has best effect in higher gears unless its modded

Interesting. So a K04 would hold higher boost in 1st gear then?

No. The ECU doesn't ask for as much boost in 1st.

no its not that it doesnt want it, its that the turbo cant produce it under those conditions and yes a k04 would do much better there and everywhere else its a much more efficient turbo

I stand corrected. I did a little digging and the ECU does request almost the same boost in 1st as it does for 2nd and 3rd. It's maybe a 1/4 psi less if that.
