Alright guys, I just have two questions, this is going to be my first oil change. I was just wondering what type of oil and filter do you guys put in your cars and what would you recommend?

Hmmm not sure. All I know is my b5 holds 3.5 lol.

I found that!

 

It holds 4.5 qts with a stock size oil filter, if your getting the huge oil filter it will take up to 4.75 qts of oil.
Always use a good quality synthetic oil, especially on the 1.8T.

 

uhhh?...do you remove your filter when changing your oil?...do you use the tiny filter?...

everytime I change my oil/oil filter on my b5 1.8T...it takes 4.25 (exactly, every oil change for over a year (about 12 prolly(it's always exactly 4.25)))...but I do use the oil filter for the 2.8...but that still doesn't anywhere near account for .75 quarts...umm...I have no idea

Thanks guys...I guess I'm going to go with mobil 1 0W-40, and I think I already have the big filter. Well it's huge, much larger than the one that was on my Mercedes. What do you think about the choice of oil, mobil?

 

Alldata says 3.5 liters. I've never used 4.
