Ok, I am new to this forum and I have been a BMW owner for life. After years of M3's, and countless amounts of high monthly payments, I want to get into something a little more practical. Audi is really blowing out cars this month and I want to get into an A4. Before i go into the dealer tomorrow I wanted to get an owners opinion: Is it worth buying the 3.2 or should I save the $6k and get the 2.0 w/ chip? They have both available (fully loaded w/ s-line and titanium). I am considering the 2.0, saving some money, and "tastefully modding" it. What do you guys think? Are there any other 3.2 advantages? Thanks in advance.

Oh...and if anyone is interested in my M3, let me know. its an '04.

 

A chipped 2.0 will be right around 250hp. The 3.2 is rated at 256. An exhaust will definately help the power output also. If you want to keep bumping up the power, you can also do more. With the 3.2 you're stuck with the 256hp. If you'd like to drive a chipped 2.0 before going to the dealership, post up here to meet some local Audi owners.

 

Thanks. I was thinking CAI, Exhaust, coilover& chip would make a nice combo. Dealer mentined a chip that they provide that doesnt affect warranty. Is that a good one or are there better? Like I said, don't know audi's so I don't know what is out there for them. Looking forward to the change though!

 

I'm pretty sure the chip they're refering to is the GIAC chip. They are a very good chip manufacturer. Ask what the power output is since they have 2 different chips from the dealer. They're rated at 240 and 230.

You may want to also look into the Stasis packages. I'm not sure if they're still being offered or not though.

 

Damn, Good amount of Horsepower there... Im assuming a B6 chipped is 210 with chip? hmmmm
