i cant decide what i want! Theres a 2001 1.8t silver on black 5sd with 107000 miles and then theres a 1998 2.8 silver on black 5spd only a 1000 dollar diff between the both (turbos more expensive). i like the woodgran on the 2.8 but the seats in the 1.8 look better.whats the reliablity of the turbo vs. the v6? and what are the pros/cons of each?

Get the 01 1.8t.... But you didnt mention the mileage on the 2.8. The 2.8 might be more reliable but is less rewarding to drive. There is a giac x chip you can get for the 01 1.8t which puts you close to k04 power. Get the 1.8t if it has service records. Turbo engines have more parts to maintain, but it doesnt mean it will be less reliable, just more work to maintain properly (vac/boost hoses on time oil changes, etc.) Turbo's last a long time. Youll hear a lot of people say the 2.8 is more reliable, but thats just because a lot of people wish they had a 1.8t. The 1.8t engine is solid and youd love it, especially if you get it chipped or do other mods. Most people prefer the trim on the 1.8t (non wood trim) but thats personal preference. If you like the idea of boost and torque and tons of mod possibilities get the 1.8t. If you are looking to keep the car mostly stock and not do a lot of modifications and like wood trim the 2.8 might be best for you. The seats in a 1.8t always look better than the 2.8's cuz 1.8's use leatherette (fake, yet feel like real leather that doesnt age very fast.) This has been covered MANY times before, so you should search for "1.8t or 2.8" in the search for more oppinions/answers.

 

the 2.8 has like 137000 on it. i tryed searching but that damn search engine got me furstrated its to picky! [:@]
also what color trims do the a4's have? is it just the aluminum and wood because from the pic of the car im looking at the 1.8 looks like it has a bronze color trim but its deff. not any wood

If its a 2.8, its wood (well not REAL wood) A good place to get an idea of the different interior trims is to check out ebay and look at the pics in the descriptions. There are a few differnt kinds for each engine.

 

ok realisticly i want a car i can up grade but i dont need a full on race car thats what my neons for. i really want the audi because i need somthing with awd for the winters but i also want to be able to upgrade it so i can spank them stupid *** nissan maximas that seem to stalk me[:'(]. i also need somthing that will be realable.
