2.8 30v pet peeves
I am looking to get another 2.8 audi. My 90 2.8 12v was by far the best and most reliable car I had. My main use for my car is ski trips. The 90 delivered.
Right now I am looking at the 2.8 30v. I want to avoid the newer engines with full timing chain. I have no issues replacing my timing belts.
From what I gathered the 30v uses a chain with guides between the intake and exhaust cams, and it has all the VVT stuff. Are there any major issues on these heads I should be aware of compared to the good old 12v? I dont really want to give up the 12v reliability for the extra ponies.
