Yeah, you guys probably don't want to mess with any 90-99 eclipse, talon or laser(refered to as DSMs because they were all built at the Diamond Star Motors plant in Normal, IL). It doesn't take much to get some good power out of them. Check out this time list, www.dsmtimes.org , over 390 cars on the list that are running faster than a 12.0 sec. 1/4. About 400 more in the 12's. Doesn't look like there are too many A4s in that territory or any Audis for that matter. Now I'm not saying I don't like the A4, I just won't be putting a pink slip down against any DSM that even have a few bolt ons. The 3rd gen eclipses(2000-2005) are not know for being fast or being easily moded. They are not much of a threat.

Just race. From a stop to about 70mph. I am curious how quick the eclipse is. Unless you dont know how to drive a straight line you should be ok. Post results.

 

raced my bone stock 99 1.8T vs. my friends 01 eclipse GS(I4,bone stock also) a while back from a 30mph roll and as soon as we went for it he couldnt keep up with me.......was doin about 110 after a quarter mile and he was 5-10 cars behind me......

 

I think you'd lose. Unless you have mods pushing more HP than stock. Cuz at stock theres no way youre gonna win.
