Chipping will void most of your warrenty anyways...

I don't know where you've heard "like" a million stories about problems caused by chips...but for every person that has to make adjustments to their air/fuel fix, etc., I'm sure there are 2-3 people that absolutely love their performance gains.

But then again, I only know what I read, no first-hand experience to speak from.

when you start changing and modifying the car you are always going to be running a risk. The results just outweigh the risks IMO. Certain chips cause less amount of problems for each model. B5=Giac B6=APR and B7=Revo. but in the end you will still be running a risk so you just have to ask yourself, is a possible problem worth the extra 50HP and 75 torque? i think so

There are lots of people who have been chipped for tens of thousands of miles with no problems, or problems directly caused from a chip. Anytime you run higher boost though the chances of springing a boost leak is more possible than without a chip. Which is no biggy. When you are considering big turbo's that may be a different story. But a chip is safe, you are exagerating. Im guessing you want a chip, but are scared of the possible consequences, and created this post so that we could dissagree with you, and you will then go get chipped like how you know you want to. If you read a million stories about chips, you should know that a chip voids your warranty anyway... Care to share a couple of these "million stories"??? Get GIAC btw.

GIAC. it gives 40-50 hp and 50-80 ft/lbs of torque on the 1.8T

Mine is chipped with APR (2 programs) 91octane+stock. My car is 5 months old and has over 11k miles on it with no problems what so ever...and still gets awesome gas mileage. I got it chipped when it had just over 4k miles on it

My last car has been chipped for over 60k miles with absolutely no problems from the chip. Original turbo with over 100k miles. Had the guy call me the other day saying he got a stage 3 chip and it hauls butt! I also upgraded the injectors about 40k miles ago. If you are careful with your maintenance routine and how you drive, then the car should do as well chipped as stock. IMO.

Cheers!
