we've got a bit of snow here, and i've discovered my car does killer doughnuts! is this bad for it? I dont know anything about the quattro system. Also are any of you running remote starts? Is there a way to bypass the thing that wont let it start unless the clustch is in? Thanks

Just be careful not to hit a bare spot in the parking lot! A friend of mine learned that the hard way back in high school.

remote starts totally doable, it's called in Immobilizor or something like that, disables the cars need to have the clutch in. You'll need to bribe an installer to do it though, or make friends with one cause it's even harder to find someone to install it on a stick.

remote starting car in 1st on accident = expensive oops

be careful about revving the motor past 3krpm with the steering wheel cranked to full lock (or very close) as that is a good way to burn out your power steering pump. my friend in his WRX and other friend in his 2.8 12v A4 did it on the same night in the same parking lot. oops.

Yep, ever winter we get two or three of these:

"I was doing doughnuts in the parking lot and now my power steering fluid is running out of the engine! What happened?"
