Alright I'm considering getting an A4. I want to get it to around 200 horsepower. Now I know the 1.8T is easier to upgrade but the 2.8 is already really close to my target horsepower. Would the 1.8T be better gas/insurance wise when it's all said and done? Also would it just be cheaper to save up for a 3.0?

 

just get a 1.8 and get a giac chip, you will spend less money in the long run then you would spending it on a 3.0

Yup, go with a chip and a dv. You will still get better gas mileage than a 2.8 or 3.0 too.

 

1.8 + chip = 200hp

 

1.8T = Bigger insurance cost. (Becuase it has a turbo, it might be a small mentally challenged turbo, but insurance agencies have no problem marking it as a turbo'd car and raping you)

 

Most people that have audis can afford things like insurance, premium gas and turbos
