2000 A4 roof hydraulic problem
Hello Audiers
I just bought a 2000 A4 convertible Audi with 80,000 miles on the clock.
Tried the roof at least 4 times before buying and it worked fine, then another 2 times at least.
Then had it serviced and it checked out fine. However as soon as I picked it up, the hatch that holds the roof when it is folded away stopped opening. When I unclip the roof and press the retract button, the roof starts folding away, but the hatch lifts only 1 inch and gets stuck there.
I took it straight back to the mechanic who checked it and said it is a hydraulics problem. In 20 minutes he wasn't able to locate the roof hydraulic resevoir and check it (even though he is an Audi specialist...)
Can anyone tell me where the resevoir is so I can get to it and see if it has signs of hydraulic fluid leaking?
I am no car expert but quite handy, might I be able to replace the resevoir myself or should I let the mechanic do it?
Thanks
