I have seen the article where this comes from, (A newspaper from detroit)
But have not received any info at the dealer

If this is true, it will be pretty crazy for a while

Well I'll be calling Audi tomorrow w/VIN# for confirmation. 3 months ago my fuel pump sh#tted the bed and I had to be towed to the dealership. I think I posted this once, but these guys had no idea as to what the problem was. It took Audi 3 days to determine that I had a faulty fuel pump. Their Diagnostic tool set showed and over-revving code so the technician replaced the RPM sensor thinkin this would solve the problem. So days are passin and i'm like WTF, these guy should have resolved or know by now whats going on with my ride. So I call the stealership on the 3rd day and the technician tells me the fuel pump needs replacing. My warranty covered me on the fuel pump, but they raped me with the labor costs.

mine failed on my 02 with around 50k miles.

hadn't heard about a recall on my year.

luckily i had my aftermarket warranty (since the repair fell just out of the warranty period).

it would have cost me about 600 to replace, but i only was responsible for my 100 dollar decutible...although if audi is supposed to be doing this repair free of charge, it would be nice to get that 100 dollars back.
