Default 2004 Radio issues

I have a 2004 a4 avant wit the stock Bose radio and noticed today that the screen for the head unit looks as if it leaked a liquid behind the screen itself as it is discolored on the lower half of the screen. It is more noticeable in direct sunlight but it is always visible. It recently got cold here(25 F) but has been much colder last year. Is there liquid in the screen itself? I definitely did not spill anything in it. I do notice that when it is really cold and I change the radio channel the screen sort of fades to the next channel....kind of like slow motion. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what causes this and how much was a new head unit or screen?

The screen is lcd style so there is liquid in it. Liquid crystal display. Id say the screen it self is probably leaking causing your delayed change in station. New radios usually run 300-600.
