Default 2005 A4 Avant 2.0 and performance chip

I'm looking to buy a new Avant 2.0 Tiptronic and because of the lack of low-end power am thinking of going the performance chip route. Has anyone had experience with chipping this car and the performance enhancements it provides???? Also wondering where to get the best pricing on this car. Thanks for any feedback.

The chips will supposedly bring chp to around 250. Not bad at all, wish I had one.

Yeah, wrong... the turbo likes to loose the backpressure, HOWEVER before the turbo spools (when this guy is feeling the lack of power) our motors are basically normally aspirated 1.8 litres... well, 2.0 in his case. These cars need backpressure, so a bigger exhaust will help up in the revs, when the turbo is working, but down low, while experiencing turbo lag, backpressure is your friend.

now correct ME if I'm wrong guys

gotta do a correction bud.. sorry.

with these tiny little turbos i can't believe people even talk about lag... unless of course the driver really just doesn't know how to drive a turbo car (and a miniature turbo car at that) and he/she tries to mash the gas in 3rd gear going 15mph.. lol

always with turbo cars go as big as possible on the dowpipe (and with the A4's also the cat section that actually mates to the turbo) and exhaust.. at least 2.5-2.75in all the way.. preferrably 3in!

trust me on this.. you'll thank me later.

and to the original poster... you'll definitely get better low end and mid range torque and power from a chip. and especially the new 2.0T is a beast with a chip!.. 250hp!

Honestly turbo lag can be dealt with just by getting used to your car. When i accelerate i dont give it full throttle right off the line... i give it a good amount to prevent lag and then squeeze the throttle more and more as you accelerate. Once you get a feel for where your turbo kicks in you can take advantage of that and smooth out the whole powerband ... you dont even feel the lag.
