Default 2006 A4 2.0T Questions

I am a 1st time audi a4 06 2.0 (6spd manual) owner. I just traded in my 05 infiniti g35 coupe, because of the climate where I'm at....
I was wondering if any other audi owners w/ the same yr and model have notice the same problems ( if it is indeed one)

I have a couple main things that bugs me rite now, one is that accelerating from second gear is really weak..for example, doing a semi stop at the stop sign. It feels like I have to go into first thats how bad it is...

Another thing is when I take off really fast and around second gear the car is steering by itself off to either sides. like the car is taking off quickly but in not a straigh line, but like im driving drunk..I dont know if the power steering is to sensitive but it kinda dangerous when the wheel does that. I dont neccessarily have to be driving dangerously fast for this to happen also...

I wonder if my warranty cover stuff like this to get fixed if they say its not a mechnical problem...
but i'll be taking it in to the dealership when i have time and have them take a look.. I have other issues w/ this car also but overall I like this ride.. I guess I will have to get it modded to my liking

When slowing down, the car will not shift automatically down to 1st gear, unless you stop completely. Any car, when accelerating from higher gear will be weak, my a4 which is the same year does the same exact thing, unless I put on Sport or tip and shift down myself. As for the car pulling to either side on acceleration, I assume your car is front wheel drive, it's probably just torque steer(common for front wheel drive vehicles)

Yeah I got the Fwd, I really wanted quattro but they didnt have many black on black stick here.. and I was itching for the car. I dont even think I have HID because my **** looks yellow as hell.. no, the rolling-stop and go is really bad, even driving a stick on a different car which is older accelerates better that my car does now on 2nd gear. I drive nothing but stick shift, and a lot of FWD but I never experience my car pulling to the sides when accelerating, until now...

You should have held out for a Quattro manual!

Maybe you didn't have enough power before to experience the torque steer.

Welcome, lets see some shiny pics of your car!

maybe you should learn to actually STOP at stop signs?

Should have got quattro, granted its heavier and more drivetrain loss, but traction and torque steer are not my main concern

Didn't have enough power before??? He had 80-100 more hp before, not to mention the infinity is REAR WHEEL DRIVE. Anywho. You are just feeling a little torque steer with the whole "feeling like your drunk thing" As you get used to the car you will learn how to control it

Yeah I shoulda waited...now u just got me sad again about that... but I've driven other cars w/ about the same power but never experienced that torque steer that bad...Is there anything I can do to minimize that so I dont go head first into the oncoming traffic???

Okay I will take some pics when it stops raining over here lol....its nuthin but stock rite now anyways...

With a small turbo engine its important to keep the RPM's above 2k RPM's. If you slow down enough that RPM's would be below 2k in 2nd gear you should use 1st gear for accelerating again.

As for the "driving drunk" feeling...I am surprised to hear its that noticable. I've driven FWD A4's and A3's and never felt much torque steer. How noticable is it? If its really bad there could be something wrong with the car's alignment or something.

Glad to hear another person that will only drive a stick. We need more people like you so manufacturers and dealers keep plenty opf stick shifts in stock! But...I will say you should have held out for a quattro model. AWD makes the car more fun even when the weather is nice.
