2008 A4 2.0T Quattro Prem, Gas Pedal stuck.
Looks like this has happened to others before with their A4's but I wanted to see if anyone found out the issue.
I was merging onto a freeway at about 60 mph when all of a sudden the car jerked back and took off. The highway was luckily fairly open, because my car got up to 140+ mph.
It was over 7k RPM's running very hard, I kept hitting the brake to slow it down but as soon as I lifted up off the brake it would go faster. It did this for about 2-3 miles untill I braked enough to get it to slow down. I had to reach down to pull the gas pedal (yes I was still driving at this point on the highway) to pull it out. Nothing was in the way or loose down there.
NO, THE FLOOR MAT WAS NOT STUCK OR LOOSE.
It was clipped in place, wasn't in the way, my shoe wasn't loose.
The gas pedal was physically jammed down and I had ZERO control.
Dealership has had my car for two days and can't seem to find anything wrong and swear up and down it was my mat.
Could it be the tiptronic or the cruise control? Could it be dirty and just got stuck? Did the devil poses my car? Why did it just take off and run so hard?
I had to throw it into manual and 1st gear to slow down the engine while breaking, not sure if I could have done damage at 100+ mph.
Help....Audi of North Scottsdale dealership is stumped.
