so ive just orderd the new 08 A4,
I want to fix it up abit, any ideas?
and do you think orderin the 08 was a good idea of is there something better?

Congrats, And the 08 is a great choise, As for thing to do to it, the list is really endless, and really depends on $$$ and what exactly you looking at doing, there are substantial mods for the engine that will greatly improve the drivablility and also things like suspention, Some cheaper things like tint and a few free mods like debadging.

 

You made the right choice, especially with the s-line and quattro. Is yours a 6 speed? That would complete the package. Anyway, follow the previous responses, and flash your ECU. Best power for your money hands down. Exhaust next, and you're golden. Aesthetically, tint, wheels, suspension (performance bonus), etc. What color did you order?

Void every warranty ASAP - thats when you know you have something special, If you have a warranty then your just another lightly modded POS

 

Really though, keep warranty in mind. It will be nice to have that cushion just in case.

 

The warranty is a nice thing to have with some of the problems these cars can exhibit, but I thought that the encryption on most chips and the stock mode leaves the dealer unable to flash you over or tell that you're chipped.

 

Isn't the A4 supposed to be completely redesigned in 2008?

Didn't they already do a refresh for 2007 though?


Or did the 2008 redesign actually happen a year earlier (and the interweb is confused)

 

I looked around some more....

Is the 2008 A4 still using the B7 platform in the US? Seems like some sites say the 2008 will use the new B8 platform (same as the A5).
But I'm not sure if that's only for Europe or not.
