2K A4 M5Q Pure MS Stern Tranny Mount Results
I took my car over to my brother's shop tongiht to change the Manual Tranny Fluid and replace the original rubber stern mount with the Polyurethane mount from Pure Motorsports.
First, to all of you witha manual transmission, if you haven't already done so, go to a fluid like Redline MT90 or the Amsoil equilivant. My shift from 1 to 2 was pretty bad and the MT90 seems to have helped quite a bit. I don't feel like the tranny is going to drop out of the bottom of the car in a million pieces every time I shift.
Now for the stern mount... It's for sale!
I already had the AWE drivetrain Stabilizer bar which helps with some of the slop but there was still a fair amount of movement under certain conditions. The Pure MS stern mount just about takes care of it but does so at the cost of a lot of vibration. It might be a case where having both the Stabilizerand the stern mount are just too much.
With the stern mount the car vibrates violently just off idle. This basically happens every time I stop and then blip the throddle during acceleration. I might be able to deal with the vibration on the highway but of the vibration off idle is too much for me.
I'm sure there are people this wouldn't bother, especially if it's not used in conjunction with the DTS bar. If you would like to purchase it from me, PM me. I'll sell it for $40, you pay postage/shipping.
