Default A 2nd chip

So I bought another GIAC ecu (hope to get another a4) the numbers are 558 M. I pulled mine out to see if I could switch them, and to make sure it was infact a GIAC chipped ecu. The numbers on mine are 557 P long story short I switched them and the car runs fine BUT the CEL came on. How do I clear it?

If you have an Autozone near by they can clear your CEL for free. Or if you know someone with a VAG or OBDII reader they can clear it also.

AUtozone or advance do not clear it for free. The stuff they use only shows what the code is.

but you can rent a tool from them that has ability to clean codes. I rent a tool from autozone paid like $200 something (when you return it they gave the money back to you) it can read and clear the codes.

or you can just find someone who has cag-com around your town.

Guess it depends on what store you go to, autozone did it for free on my car but they had me push the button, they won't do it. I guess it's a little bit different whereever you go.

The local audi shop has vag-com so I guess I'll take it to them and have it cleared. Hopefully they can tell me why it came about in the first place...I know it's because of the ecu but what is the difference they are both n-dbw.

My friend owns the shop he'll hook me up. As for another A4 yes I want a fwd for work because gas is crazy esp with quattro. This ecu came with a k04 and I would like to run it in the quattro if this cel goes away.
