There's not much you can do on a 3.0 engine. About the only thing is a supercharger, which will set you back about $5k. You can also do suspension mods, chip, & exterior mods... that's about it.
Supercharger is the only really power adder you have, otherwise for bolts on you can do the typical intake, exhaust and chip, but these will only give you maybe an extra 15 HP for around $1800, not worth it. I think I am going to do exhaust for sound, then just save for a supercharger.
exactly, SC is the only route for us 3.0 ers, exhaust suspension wheels and tints are pretty much it, we stick by the cosmetic Mods to a extent. SC will put you in the low 300whp range lots of power, i think its like 325 to wheels. TOns of get up and go.
There are not much mods for 3.0 engine. Supercharger is pretty much the only way to go. However, if you have tiptronic transmission you can't install SC because it can't handle it. For 3.0, you need PES G3 supercharger which will give you 320 HP and 267 TQ. It costs $5295 according to its website.
I am not sure if it is worth it to spend more than $5K to gain 100 HP. Moreover, according to SuperchargedAudi forum (www.scaudi.com), you may have to deal CEL (check engine light) more often. Also, the SC may not kick in after 4000 rpm or so.... I was thinking to get supercharged but after research and reading posts from SCAudi forum, I gave it up. Don't really want to spend all those money and deal whole new problems.
