3.0 vs. 1.8
Hey all you A4 experts...I have a question...
I am looking at 2003 A4s. I thought I was sold on a gray 1.8 which I have driven, but I just found a listing for a 3.0 that is only five hundred dollars more with similar miles. I have not driven the 3.0. What will I be getting more? Please do not tell me two more cylinders or more power, I am aware of that. Are there any drawbacks to the 3.0? Gas mileage much worse?
Thanks to anyone who can help.

RE: 3.0 vs. 1.8
Just went through this myself. I'm also a newb so this info came from replies and not based on experience.
2.8(3.0) - Smooth, more refined, more reliable, more inital power, few tuning options
1.8(2.0) - Noisier, better gas mileage, butt load of tuning options
I just bought a 2.0. The 3.0 was much smoother in the test drive.

Sorry for the "harsh" reaction. Even though the topic is covered almost daily i know the search feature can be a pain and often doesnt return what ur looking for. Many apologies, its been a long day at work so far.
