So you have a 3.0 and a 1.8T. Then you shoul dbe fully aware that with a few light mods, a "4 banger" would leave your 3.0 in the dust

a few light mods and it keeps up, but i can mod the 3.0 also. just cause some company dosent make a bolt on kit dosent mean it can't be done. there is no mod on a 1.8t that cant be done to a 3.0, all it takes is know how and patience.

i appreciate the concern but i do well enough finacially to be able to custom make things and build the car i want not the one that abd or nuespeed already did.

you ever hear the phrase think outside the box. i like to make it happen on my own, like i said all it takes is time and patience. and quit wasting your breath i never said the 1.8t is a terrible engine but it does have some issues and limitation just like any other engine, and i dont want those for whatever direction i plan to go, whether it be a stock daily driver or a heavily modified car.

Yeah the turbo'd VR6's are fast, no doubt...

but you're sorta going in circles... "think outside the box" and fabricate a bunch of sh*t to slap something together on your 3.0L... please, dont even TRY to say that'd be reliable. And for the time and $ it'd take to make a 3.0L fast, you'd be able to spend the same and get a b5 S4, and make it faster -- and the S4 would already have the big brakes/better suspension etc.

I'm not trying to sound like a *****... I defended the V6 thing a while ago... and its true, with an unlimited budget, you can obviously make more power if you start with more displacement... but the price difference would be enormous, and with all the fabrication, reliability goes out the window.

PS: Post pics of your corrado -- I've always wanted one, but they are suprisingly expensive to insure! (more than my corvette, trans am, or camaro)

As for the tomritt challenge... are you saying your 3.0L would beat him, or your turbo'd corrado? Cause the challenge was clearly a 3.0 vs 1.8T... although, turbo'd corrado's usually have around 300 hp, no? Starting with 178, stock? What turbo are you using?

to race ritt i would pull the tec3 and the nos off the rado motor and bolt it on the 3.0. that should add about 50 couse of the stand alone and another 75 cause of the nos. but it would be alot of work for one race. you can see pics at eiptuning dot com under the turbo kits section. but i never said i would win just that i would race him.

and about the money spent it no more that a 1.8t if i do the work myself (or actually with the help of a friend) just a turbo, intercooler, injectors, management, head gasket etc. about all that has to be bought for a 1.8t as well. the only difference is 1.8t come with the turbo kit and 3.0's dont. my corrado has a custom fabricated turbo kit and it has never broken down even with nos, granted i have to go through all kinds of crap for a cold start. but i run the **** out of that car and she holds up. its all about doing things correctly ive seen stock vr6 bottom ends take 20 psi with only tec and fuel upgrades. but i have seen quite a few blow up, its all about the tuning time im sure you would agree.

I'd be up for a friendly race, as long as it was at a track. Where's the nearest track between you and Philadelphia, no matter what the income it would still be fun! Also just curious what kinda numbers does the raddo make?

I thought there was one vw 1.8t motor that has forged internals, possibly the tt, (cant remmeber the engine code), or the awp comes to mind, not sure though.

Damn I wish I could afford a corrado...
The guy I bought my golf off of... had another VR6 golf, turbo'd... HUGE turbo, biggest injectors he could find apparently... I recall him saying he was running 10's, and had over 500 hp. Exhaust would be glowing orange.. I never saw any of this, but apparently he was always at the track with it... sounded pretty bloody impressive! I know the stuff he had done to my golf was insanely nice.

have no idea, i only know MIR and capitol raceway. one is in wester md and the other southern. you going to h20 this year?

and also i cant give a precise figure on what i am making to the wheels on the rado anymore cause i cant dyno with nitrous, but its definately in the high 400, last dyno was 467hp and 433 torque at 18 psi but that was 2 years ago, alot of tweaking and changing since then. last time on the dyno it stripped the teeth off 3. i was still able to save the tranny but been a little hesitant to dyno since then.
