I got a 2001 B5 about a month ago. I recently purchased a borla exhaust, and apr chip. Together there produce descent "pull" from the small engine. I wanted to know if there was a way to get the car close to 300 hrs w/o uprgrading the turbo. It's probably at around 250 right now. I also have the h&r lowering springs, so i think that would handle the power adequatly. I will be using this car as a daily driver but it would still be nice to get thrown back in the seat a bit more. Thanks for your help.

 

you may get 250 with the k04 in, sorry but the k04 turbo is not much different than the stock k03 to even get close to 300hp

 

i dont think your making 250 on just chip and exhaust. i'd say 225... and thats really generous

for 300 hp, you'd have to go bt and standalone, and that means upgraded cluch and fmic which is expensive

for an overall bill to make 300+ hp on what you have currently, i'd say 5g's is a decent guess

 

just do the ko4 upgrade.

 

There is no way your at 250 HP with the mods you listed.

I'm at 217HP/263ft (CHP) with FX chip, injectors, exhaus, CAI and FMIC.

you have a heavier car for one, and i'm talking about to the crank, not to the wheels. The apr dyno charts says that for the b5 1.8t you should get a 60hrs increase.

 

excuse me i was thinking of the torque numbers. I guess my over all objective would be to make the car pull as hard as it can w/o having to spend 5000.

 

well the one guy made 217 or so whp with every supporting mod and the j31 file which is more aggressive and runs bigger injectors only for year 00. Seeing you have an 01 they dont have any big injector k04 turbo files that i know of. at most you will get is 260-280 chp.

 

I don't know with what kind of magic you were imagining the A4 to go from 150 to 300 without a bigger turbo.
