Is 5 quarts too much for A4???

Hey guys, so is 5 quarts too much??? When I changed my A4 last week, I put
in 5 quarts of Valvoline Synthetic 10W30 in it. Let me know ASAP please... Thanks!

u do have a dipstick and yes its too much i believe they only take 4

Yeah, I do have a dipstick and I checked it but it seems right. I suppose I'll have to bleed some oil
away cause I don't want to have any problems later on.

4.5 is the perfect amount.... i went on a few audi websites... all the people use 4.5

i used 4 and no more and its right at the line on my 1.8t

haha look thsi post is only noobs. Thats wierd. U should check u manual on how much u should use. It will be in the index under capacties. I know that my 2.8 use 5.5

The neck on my dipstick is broken so it goes way too far down the tube so with 4 qts mine reads about an inch past full. LOL. Every time I've had it changed at a oil shop, they come in and tell me they started with 4 qts and it reads way over full. I laugh and tell em it's fine, then add a half qt myself at home.

the thing is my a4 doesn't come with a manual and I have to get one[:@]

Same here, I have to buy the dipstick tube extension and replace it. I think its like 2$
