car is completely stock but is it just me or is that a little low shouldnt it be at 8-9 PSI

Check for boost leak anyway, and if you cant find any chip it and go mid teens, then it wont be alitel low any more

 

Could be a boost leak, or you're in limp mode due to overboost or running lean or something like that. Is your CEL on?

Another cause can be a clogged or failed N75 valve. I had my turbo replaced last week and only got 5-6 psi boost until I pulled my N75 and unclogged it. I'm chipped too.

 

do 98s have n-75?

I thought 6 psi was stock level and you don't go over that until after you chip it.

it is 8-9 psi for 2000+ , before that 6-7 is normal pressure. They uped the boost in 2000 to help get to the 170hp as opposed the pre 2000 150hp

 

Thats what I thought. But I think your years are off. I think only the 2001 has the higher boost and pre-01 is at 6-7 psi (not 00 as you stated).

So since Mya has a 98, his boost should be good. Chip it and then you will prob be able to find a boost leak or two ;-)

 

Yeah I was boosting around there on my car. But, the n75h vavle raised it up by 2-3psi. I didn't get much experience with it as I got my chip the next day. 15psi =/ I think it's leaking now.
