Default 6-speed s4 tranny

I've been thinking for a while now how much more performace a 6-speed tranny is gonna give me if i swap it for my 5-speed. Is it going to affect 0-60 1/4 and top speed? Also what other parts would i need and how much can i get the cheapest 6-speed for. How much labor and stuff like that. Just an idea for now. If i do it it is going to be after a couple of months. Thanks guys.

Will not fit in your car the only tranny you can change from your vehicle is the 2.8 5spd

Yeah I think you have to swap the rear diff too. Not worth it.

you can not fit the 6spd to the A4's so what does it matter that the diff's are different

3 ppl have done it that I know of,

Parts needed:
6 speed trans
linkage & stabilizer bars
center shaft
rear dif
left & right trans mounts & brackets(left one will need fabrication)
either A4 rear dif flanges, or S4 1/2 shafts

To eliminate the fabrication to the left trans mount, you could either install an S4 front subframe, or weld on a bracket to the A4 subframe to fit with the S4 left trans mount(which I intend to do soon - better IMO).

3" downpipe will require modification to the right trans mount bracket. Shifter area in the center console is a little tight for 4 gates, but does just fine.
