I have seen that it is essential to upgrade to the 710N DV after getting your car chipped. But if you don't have it chipped does upgrading to the 710N make sense and does it help the car at all?

Maybe, maybe not. It only helps if your stock DV is not functioning correctly.

Sorry if I sound completely stupid but how would I know my DV's aren't functioning properly.

Honking, whistling, loss of boost, decreased power, CEL.
