91 or 95 octane??

Default 91 or 95 octane??
Hey there ppl. I live in New Zealand and just wondering what grade fuel i should be using in my 97 A4 1.8T quattro?? I fuel up at shell and normaly fill 91octane gas because i think it runs better with 91 then 95 octane. Dont know if its me or if it realy does run better with 91 octane.

ok My question is. is 91 octane to less of a octane gas for my car?? Provided if anyone knows about different grade fuel in diff countrys.

91 is fine, 95 is overkill unless you're chipped...

NO, not at all, I’m originally from Ukraine/Russia and lots of ppl using 98 on higher class cars (bmw, Mercedes, Audi). not so sure about this, but I would think fuel grade is different.

to be honest with you, if your car is stock you can use regular gas.

If you look inside the gas door, it clearly says 91 octane(US), 95 octane (other places) minimum. Since you are in NZ, I am not sure what rating you guys use, but we dont have 95 in the us commonly, So I am guessing its the other rating.
You should be using 95 minimum, 98 if you are chipped.

lowest octane in the UK is 95 Ron but we also have 98 Ron which gives more power and if driven at a leisurely speed will return better MPG no requirements to alter any computer settings through that should do it by its self

They dont have 91 in new zealand.

They use RON octane rating, 95 or 98. Audi reccomends 95 ron minimum.
