hello been reading the archives for a while now .but today i need help i have 333,000 miles on my 96 2.8 it just started making a loud whistling noise from front of engine so loud it hurts my ears it will go away but does return ..it make the noise at all different RPM's .i'm thinking maybe serpentine belt tensioner or power steering pump area... was going to pull the belt off but is snowing like crazy today and don't have a garage ..here is a short video listen and tell me what you think thanks for reading my post====> <======...btw it the best car i have ever owned

 

Have to agree it sounds like a bad bearing (on a pulley) or the water pump may be going out. Without looking at it closer it is really hard to, but I think you are on the right track.

 

thanks just got done fixing problem serpentine belt tensioner bearing was dry and i was unable to get parts for few days so i cleaned up greased it good and put it back together going to replace in few weeks when i do timing belt
