96 A4 water temp. light on??

96 A4 water temp. light on??
I have a 96 A4, and the water temp. light goes on when I start the car, and then anytime I stop or take a turn. The temp. guage shows the temp is fine, so I ruled out the thermostat. Could this be the ECT sensor, or the coolant reservoir? Is there a level sensor in the reservoir, because it seems when the fluid moves, it goes off. If so, can just this sensor be replaced, or does the whole reservoir have to go? Thanks for any help you can offer!
