I had to have the module rebuilt on mine. Contact www.autoecu.com They rebuilt mine for about $60+shipping & offered a 2 year guarantee.

I have this same problem, my friend who is an audi tech suggested that it was either the switch which is in the picture ^^^^ or it is the cruise control module. we tested the switch and it passed, but the module failed. we removed it from behind the glove box and i still havent had it rebuilt. but that module failed continueously. try getting some wiring diagrams and test the module, it may need to be rebuilt.

sorry i forgot to add...... the module looks like a 1" x 2" x 4" aluminum box with the a part number 5GA 004 397-16, it has a 12 pin connector, and again it is behind your glove box, up under your dash

Sandman,
I'm a rookie to audis........do i have to take my steering column apart to
disassemble the cruise control switch, so I could spray it with electrical
cleaner? Please walk me through.....I live in Vancouver, WA., and going to be
driving to SoCal soon. Cruise control would be beautiful!
Thanks,

Just spray the switch where it is. Then move the switch. Hold a paper towel behind where you spray.
