Hey all-

I'm new to the boards but have been a big fan of A4s since they came out. With the raising price of gas, I have reluctantly decided to turn in my beloved Durango and buy a used A4. I have read up on the reviews and have narrowed my search down to either a 98 or 99. I was hoping I could get some input from those of you who have owned these particular cars. How do they perform? Any mechanical issues? How about reliability?

i wanna say the 99.5+ got the aesthetic upgrade which I like a lot more than the years before (headlights, tail lights, badging, etc). the 2.8 engine is a lot more reliable than the 1.8t engine and as long as you won't be modding you'll be fine (because there is such a lack of parts for the 2.8).

 

I would get the newest one you can find for you $. Also if you find some that you are interested in, place the ads up here for us to look at.
