i was looking in the haynes manual to replace my timing belt and it looks like there are some special tools that i won't have to do the job myself. Is this one of those jobs where you absolutely have to take it to a certified mechanic or can I do it myself?

if you are experienced with audis then you can do it your self. it is a tough time consuming job though. search the forums there are many write ups regarding this topic.

You dont have to but i would. unless you really know what your doing. cause if you replace teh belt and dont line the timing up perfectly your going to crack a piston or a valve or f^ the whole engine. so i would fork out the cash for a mechanic
