hey, just bought a 98 2.8QM 30v, i'm changing my spark plugs, any recommendations? i'm gonna go get them tommorow.


also, it's got 85k miles, any easy way to check the timming belt condition?

 

if the car has 85k miles, and the timing belt hasnt been changed before... DO IT NOW!

 

hey, yea i'm soo paranoid when i drive it that it will break anytime, i'm probably gonna get it done next week some time. maybe next sunday after i get everything in. just bought it last wednesday.

can i change the belt without taking apart the whole front end?

but sometimes, it misfires for a few seconds (just started today) at low rpm then goes away, so gonna change the plugs tommrow to see if that will solve it. what kinda plugs should i go with? plat 4+ or something else?

 

not sure which plugs to use, you have to take off the whole front of the car to do your timing belt job, thats all i really know about the timing belt job..

this is pretty much what ur gonna have to do, ignore the red circled part.. the pic just already had that in there

 

you can change tining belt without taking it apart, but is gona be a real PITA

lol. i really dont' wanna disconnect the condensor or even the radiator (but thats not much of a prob). maybe just strech it out a bit and take out the fan?

donno. someone should have done it without taking everything apart. lol

i went to autozone, they only had 4 plat +4, so i bought the plat +2. should be good enough. :\

i just had my first full tank of gas, 280mi to 14 gal fill up(today). so like 20 mpg. (some flooring and mostly city driving)lol
