Got the brake pad symbol today when I tured my car on to leave work... While stopped at a stop light I decided to turn off and restart the engine just for the hell of it, and it didnt come back. Any ideas other than a lose connection for the sensor(s)?? Front pads are about 50%. Hope this doesnt turn out to be another F'd up gauge cluster thread

i never understood why they invested so much time and money into making something as useless as a brake pad warning light...i'm pretty sure the audible warning from metal on metal has been working fine for decades.

I had a brake light come on when the pads were fine. The sensor wire ended up getting frayed and caused the light.
