Is there any difference between a 1999 a4 1.8T and a 199.5 a4 1.8T? Did they change anything on the car half way through that year?

 

I've got a 99.5... I think that all A4s built between April and July were
designated as 99.5 models.

Here are some of the differences:

Side markers are clear
Cover over battery area
New headlights
Changed climate control
Changed buttons for foglamps
Includes cargo net
New controls for sunroof
Suspension changes
Hidden windshield washers
New light switches
New ashtray
New cupholder in dash

There is more but I cant remember them....

 

oh yea and the body style on the 99.5 is that of the 00 and 01 model A4's

 

Are the headlights (on a 99.5) one solid unit as opposed to seperate front lense and corner lenses? I just purchased what I think might be a 99.5 but it was advertised as a 1999.

 

most people don't know they have a 99.5 unless they're audi enthusiasts...if you have one-piece projector headlights, you have a 99.5

im not sure because i bought mine and it the dealer said it was a 99....but then i checked the Vin # and it was a 99.5 and my headlights are 2 piece so I guess 96-99 is 1 piece, while 99.5 is 2 piece

 

nope you've got that backwards...there are always a few exceptions to the MY changes..in your case denis it looks like your car didn't make the cutoff for updated headlights.

SWEET!!! I got lucky the 1999 advertised a4 I bought and will pick up this Sat is a 1999.5. I knew there was a difference when I was looking at photos. I was on ebay searching for crystal clear projector headlights and kept getting conflicting results.

Has anyone bought aftermarket clear projector headlights for a 99.5 a4??? from ebay??? any pics or suggestions??
