can anybody help please

I have read the trouble shooting guide but i am still no closer to solving the issue.

i have a 2002 a4 1.8t 150 which starts on the 2nd turnover (never the 1st when cold) once the engine has warmed up is starts 1st time everytime.

It always starts on the 2nd time just wondered if any body has any ideas.
Its been serviced regularly.

I do know the emmisions are higher than should be and the Cats on its way out.
