Hi all,
Sorry i will be a bit vague here just after some options. My 2005 b7 a4 2.5tdi seems to have a slight starting problem. Especially when it's parked up overnight. It sometimes takes 6-7 turns and then lets out what i think is unburnt diesel (white smoke/vapour). Tends to be less turns when engine is warmer. It clears almost instantly. These are all +7 deg Celsius temp so i don't think glow plugs is an issue. I did park up at work yesterday and it sat for 7 hrs and turned over on 1 turn. Prob may be intermittent, I took it to a indy mech and he plugged in a reader. No fault codes found so we took it out and had a look at some live data. It was not vcds, the only think he said was the maf reading was low when i floored it (think it was aound 800) he said he tested it on a 2.0tdi a while back and was getting 1800 so was expecting it on mine. So he thinks there is an issue with maf or sensor, would that be right? Havn't used this guy before, he said the car should pin him to the seat more, i do have to admit i had a Saab 1.9tdi before which seemed to have a little more poke. It's been like this since the day i bought it, only a couple of months ago.
