I need a new cat so I ordered 2 and an axle back exhaust. I was wondering what an exhaust shop should charge for welding the new cats on then fab up piping to the axle back exhaust.

 

what do you mean? be a little more specific? where do you plan on going? the reason I ask is that I have two mufflers on the way...

 

depends on the shop. i had mine put on at midas after hours for some cheep money. are you in mass?

 

Well I'm in Ames, IA and there's not many choices for exhaust shops around, maybe 3. I was just wondering what to expect for the cost.

What I need - Weld 2 cats on (2.25" each), then fabricate piping from the cats back to my new axle back exhaust kit (2.5" IIRC).

Maybe I should give Midas a call...

 

Depends on the shop, I would guess about 80-100 for labor, and whatever piping they charge you for. So maybe 120?

Why dont you just call a shop?

Or did they quote you a price already and you are just trying to see if its in line with other places?

 

I called and got ballpark estimates into $200... doesn't seem too bad though. I called an independent shop here and a Midas.

 

Doesn't sound too bad I guess, since it is a dual exhaust.

Not much you can do other than call all the local shops and find the best price.
